Dear colleagues, I am writing to flag a PDW on entrepreneurship and innovation in India. This is an open workshop (i.e. no registration required) intended to generate interest and address theory development using the Indian context. I hope that many of you can join in to see some of the exciting research initiatives undertaken by the panellists as well as spend an hour discussing the broad opportunities of working with Indian data.
Best,
Gerry George

| Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Indian Context: Building a Research Agenda and its Challenges |
The primary goal of this PDW is to provide a forum for scholars to share experiences and engage in conversations about the idiosyncrasies of conducting meaningful entrepreneurship and strategy research in the Indian context. We are experiencing what may be a defining phenomenon of this century, namely a shift in the center of gravity to emerging economies. Businesses in India, both domestic and foreign, are redefining global industries through innovations in product, process and business models. However, much of this is anecdotal, and outside the scope of mainstream discussions and research in US business schools. Simultaneously, although research has become a critical issue in Indian business schools, many are looking for ways to leapfrog the learning curve on research competencies. Focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship research, this PDW will bring together a group of researchers to provide fresh insight into research in the Indian context.
