Meet 17 Open Minds student teams and see their prototypes for inventive new technologies for use in the U.S. and developing countries - from life-saving medical interventions to environmentally sustainable solutions.

Six of the Open Minds teams have been invited to enter a video competition showcasing their innovation, with the opportunity to win a cash prize. The video finalists were selected by a distinguished panel of judges - John Calvert, Senior Advisor, Office of Innovation Development at the United States Patent and Trademark Office; Joe Palca, National Public Radio's science correspondent; and Ben Schrag, Program Director, National Science Foundation.

Voting is now open to the public! Please cast your vote here for the best video by March 20.

Vote here for your favorite Open Minds team video.

The Open Minds competition is sponsored by the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) with support from The Lemelson Foundation.
