NSF - Ph.D. Student Research Development Workshop (RDW)
One of the major highlights of ACAC is the Ph.D. student Research Development Workshop (RDW),
supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
The RDW is open to late-stage Ph.D. students doing research related to competitive advantage with
emphasis given to research focusing on technology strategy, search and learning in organizations,
knowledge management, strategic entrepreneurship, and dynamic capabilities. Submitted research
papers should be targeted to top academic journals in the students relevant field. Papers may be
taken from the students dissertation work, but dissertations are not to be submitted.
With the support of NSF, the ACAC Ph.D. RDW is able to underwrite most of the cost of
participating in this workshop. Selected PhD students are only responsible for their transportation
costs to and from the conference site and for dinner on Wednesday, May 21. The NSF support
covers all other meals, receptions and refreshment breaks from lunch on Monday, May 19 through
lunch on Thursday, May 22. NSF also covers lodging at the conference hotel for up to three nights.
For RDW PhD students the main program registration fee is waived.
