  • 1.  Interest in learning more about university-based minority entrepreneurship courses

    /*Please excuse any cross-postings.*/

    Dear colleagues,

I teach a semester-long course in Minority Entrepreneurship (here at the
College of Charleston). I am aware of a few schools across the country
that offer a similar course (and/or cover the content as part of a
different course); however, I do not know how many schools teach this
course (or a related course). I am interested in learning which
colleges and universities provide educational opportunities for its
students and stakeholders in the areas of minority or ethnic (e.g.,
    Black/African-American, Hispanic/Hispanic-American, Native American,
    Asian/Asian American) entrepreneurship.

If your institution offers a course in minority entrepreneurship or
ethnic entrepreneurship (whether within or outside the business school),
    please e-mail me.

If your institution offers a course (regardless of discipline) that
covers content involving minority or ethnic entrepreneurship (for
example, within an African-American History course, a Principles of
Entrepreneurship course, or a Diversity Issues in Business course, to
name a few), please let me know.

Alternatively, if your institution offers a course, workshop or seminar
series on minority/ethnic entrepreneurship within its
entrepreneurship/small business development center, please send me an
    e-mail.

    Thanks in advance!

I know that Stanford and Babson have courses on entrepreneurship for
underrepresented groups. I will be teaching minority
entrepreneurship as part of a course for Masters students this
spring. I just published a book on minority entrepreneurship with
Alicia Robb at MIT Press entitled, "Race and Entrepreneurial Success"
that I'm planning on using for this course. We provide a
comprehensive analysis of recent trends in minority entrepreneurship
using new data and the most respected government data sources. We
also provide an extensive analysis of causes of racial differences,
literature review, data discussion, and policy discussion. Several
people have asked me about the book at conferences for other
courses. Please take a quick look at it:
