POSITION OPENING – CLINICAL FACULTY IN TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP
THE RIATA CENTER FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND THE OFFICE OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
The Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University seeks applicants for the position of Clinical Faculty in Technology Entrepreneurship. The position supports the campus wide entrepreneurial efforts at Oklahoma State University. The individual would encourage and facilitate the establishment and start-up of technology-based companies or units within or closely aligned with OSU and assist existing and start-up companies to advance through development and graduation to self-sufficiency. The focus will be on commercializing technologies developed at OSU or in conjunction with OSU. In addition, the position would work closely with the Riata Center and the Department of Entrepreneurship to facilitate student engagement in technology ventures on campus and in the community, facilitate technology based entrepreneurship across the OSU campus, and teach related coursework as may be directed. The specific activities of this position are market analyses, feasibility studies, business plan development, business plan competitions, internships, student ventures & companies, teaching at least one class per semester on entrepreneurship, identifying viable technologies and applied research, engaging and mentoring student consulting teams, support for raising capital. Requirements for this position are direct experience in starting and/or growing small technology-based companies; experience in funding vehicles for technology-based start-ups; interpersonal skills required to create and build partnerships with researchers, management teams, technology licensors/licensees, investors, customers, and other business support resources; willingness to support and assist all aspects of early stage company development; ability to balance support activities while guiding multiple opportunities through a standard milestone-driven program; ability to quantitatively evaluate the financial prospects for opportunities.
