I would like to draw your attention to the Personal Development Workshop "The Potential of a Clinical Approach: Psychological Disorders and Entrepreneurship Theory". The session is scheduled on Friday August 1 from 11:15AM to 1:15PM at Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel in the Independence B room. It is listed as session #85 in the program. Details can be found here: http://program.aom.org/2014/submission.asp?mode=ShowSession&SessionID=1046.

The workshop discusses this exciting new topic and does so in a manner that encourages maximum interaction between presenters and the audience – following 5 minute introductory presentations, the five presenters each leads a breakout session related to their specific topic. The presenters and topics covered are:

Dimo Dimov's talk concerns the question if entrepreneurship can be anything but irrational?

Keith Hmieleski's talk concerns the dark triad (narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy) and entrepreneurial performance.

Holger Patzelt's talk concerns psychological disorders and entrepreneurial decision making

Phil Phan's talk concerns dopamine, sensation seeking, schizophrenia, and entrepreneurship.

Johan Wiklund's talk concerns ADHD, impulsivity and their positive influences on entrepreneurial performance.

If you intend to take part in the PDW, which we sincerely hope, we recommend (but don't require) that you send an email to jwiklund@syr.edu. If you do, you will receive additional information and insights.

    Welcome!
