    If you are an MBA instructor and have some excellent MBA students (or others), please encourage them to apply. Washington State University seeks applicants for the doctoral program in the Department of Management and Operations in the College of Business to start the program in the fall of 2009. The Department has a revolving admission process. The College of Business is AACSB accredited. Currently, five positions are open and funded. Each entering doctoral student will receive an assistantship and tuition waver. The most promising applicants may be eligible for a signing bonus. Washington State University is located in Pullman, Washington. The town sits in the beautiful Palouse region of the state and is approximately two hours south of Spokane, Washington and thirty minutes north of Lewiston, Idaho. The University of Idaho is just ten minutes to the east in Moscow, Idaho. Although Washington State University includes urban campuses in Vancouver, Washington and Tri-Cities, Washington, doctoral students are expected to reside at the main campus in Pullman. Application Requirements The following items must be received by the deadline to ensure proper processing of the application: • Completed application. • Official GMAT score. • Official transcripts. • Official TOEFEL score for ESL students. • Three letters of recommendation. Entry Requirements Candidates must have a minimum admission index score of 1250 to enter the Ph.D. program (index scores are calculated by taking the GMAT score plus 200 x GPA.) and a TOEFL of 580 for ESL students. Most successful applicants to our program have had a minimum of: • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited university • 3.25 GPA • 600 GMAT score Also, it is expected that students entering the doctoral program will possess competencies in math, business (accounting, economics, finance, management, marketing, operations management), computer skills and have a good command of the English language. If the student is deficient in any of these areas, additional course work and preparation (beyond the major course of study) may be required. Those requirements will be determined by the student's committee. Students possessing an MBA generally possess the minimum competencies detailed. Why choose Washington State University? • Faculty work closely with doctoral students on research and to prepare students for a career in academia. • One of our four graduating students just received a first-author publication acceptance in the top international business journal, Journal of International Business Studies. • Two of our four graduating students received a revision request from the top journal in strategic management, Strategic Management Journal. • All four of our graduating students have at least one journal publication and one conference presentation. • Two of our graduating students received three job offers, and one received two job offers for employment beginning in the fall of 2009. • Applicants can study Macro topics (Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Organization Theory, and International Management) or Micro topics (Organization Behavior, Human Resource Management, and Leadership). • Doctoral students also are given the opportunity to teach courses after their first year in the program. • Doctoral students also may take cross-discipline courses in other departments (Marketing, Finance, Accounting, MIS, Psychology, Sociology, Economics, etc.).
