    Good evening -

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for (or can provide insight from having had success) gaining access to a sample of family firms (more specifically, those firms whose ownership is at least second generation).

Thank you for any direction and insight anyone can provide, and I'd be happy to share responses with the list,
    Doan

Hi Doan, The following 2009 in-press paper uses secondary data on family
    firms:

    http://papers.ssrn.com/abstract=1151025

However, some of the sources of the secondary data were papers that had
collected data from family firms around the world. It might help to dig
    deeper into the sources.

As a side note, you might find some of the theory stuff in the paper
    useful too.

    Good luck with your research!!
