Many of you may have heard of the exciting new developments at Oklahoma State made possible by very generous gifts from prominent alumni.  A new academic Department of Entrepreneurship has been created and it will work hand-in-hand with the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship. Fifteen new entrepreneurship courses are being implemented, and a number of other major entrepreneurial initiatives are underway.  We are looking for key role players as we build a world class entrepreneurship program at OSU.  Especially important in this regard is the William S. Spears Chair in Entrepreneurship, as this individual will provide scholarly leadership as we move forward on the research and Ph.d. program fronts.  Please see the description below, and let me know if you have questions.

The William S. Spears School of Business invites applications for the Spears Chair in Entrepreneurship.  The Chair offers an exciting opportunity for a select individual to join the growing entrepreneurship team at Oklahoma State University as we continue to build a world-class, comprehensive entrepreneurship program.

The primary responsibility of the Spears Chair will be to provide leadership to OSU's research efforts in entrepreneurship by conducting an active personal research program, working with established senior scholars, overseeing the new Ph.D. program in entrepreneurship, and mentoring the research efforts of junior faculty and doctoral students.  The Chair will teach courses in the Department of Entrepreneurship. His/her efforts will also be supported by the Riata Center for Entrepreneurship.

The successful applicant will be an established and nationally respected scholar in entrepreneurship.  An earned doctorate in a relevant discipline is required.  The compensation and research support package is highly competitive.

The Entrepreneurship Department and Center have recently been created as a result of a generous gift of $28.6 million.  Total endowment of the Entrepreneurship Program will be in excess of $50 million with matching funds received.  In addition to the Ph.D., the Department offers a graduate concentration in entrepreneurship, an undergraduate major and minor, and an undergraduate cross-campus minor.  While the Department coordinates scholarly and curricular activities, the Center oversees a portfolio of leading-edge entrepreneurial outreach programs.

With nearly 4,000 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students, the Spears School of Business offers undergraduate degrees in business administration, six masters degrees including MBA and accounting, and PhD degrees in business administration and economics.  In holding to its land-grant heritage, the Spears School is dedicated to outstanding research, teaching, and outreach and entrepreneurship across the campus.

Please apply by January 15, 2009.  Position is open until filled.  Interested persons should send a vita to:
