    Objective of the Book:

    The proposed book will gather contributions to better understand the dynamics of knowledge intensive business services and regional development and competitiveness. Its contents will be driven by cutting-edge research questions. Its ambition is to assist researchers, entrepreneurs, business owners, policy makers and other stakeholders in their definition of renewed strategies and policies for regional economic prosperity.

     

    Overall Objectives and mission:

    This book aims to study the contribution of knowledge intensive business services into regional economic processes and development, and their impact on regional competitiveness.

    This publication aims to be a significant step toward new insights, to contribute for improved analyses of the dynamics of knowledge intensive business services in international context. Its content will allow international comparison and benchmarking. The overall objectives of this book proposal include:

     - To discuss the importance of the dynamics of innovation and entrepreneurial activities of knowledge intensive business services;

     - To explore the impact of knowledge intensive business services and their contribution to regional development and competitiveness;

     - To introduce state-of-the-art examples and development trends;

     - To discuss critical success factors to feed regional policy making and implementation.

    The mission of the proposed book is to discuss the main issues, challenges, opportunities and trends, related to the dynamics of knowledge intensive business services and regional competitiveness, focusing on innovation, entrepreneurial activities and their outcome.

     

    Recommended Topics (not limited to the following):

    The book intents to collect the most recent developments on the topics covered, particularly in the areas of business and economics. It is intended to cover the following:

    1. Knowledge Intensive Business Services: state-of-the-art
    2. Dynamics of Knowledge Intensive Business Services and regional development and competitiveness
    3. Knowledge Intensive Business Services in international contexts
    4. Empirical case studies

     

    Submissions procedure:

    Academics, researchers and practitioners are invited to submit before February 15, 2015, a 2-3 pages manuscript proposal clearly explaining the mission and concerns of the proposed chapter. Authors of accepted proposals will be notified by March 3, 2015 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter organizational guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by May 15, 2015. All submitted chapters will be reviewed.

    May 15, 2015:  Full Chapters Submission Deadline

    June 30, 2015: Review Results Returned

    July 31, 2015: Final Chapter Submission Deadline

    August 31, 2015: Publishing
