    Dear All,

If you don't know what to do Sunday morning, please join us at our 3rd PDW on Technoentrepreneurship (9 am, Room 212A, Convention Center) ! Listen to exciting research, interesting initiatives in Bschools and discuss among colleagues on the next trends of research in the field...With scholars from all over the world, these are 3 hours well spent !

This year, the PDW is organized by Gita Surie, Lalit Manral, Bill Lekse and François Thérin.

    See you soon !

The nascent yet burgeoning field of Technoentrepreneurship is currently positioned as a niche at the intersection of technology management and entrepreneurship. The latter two fields have gained tremendous interest in the last 30 years as researchers, politicians, and practitioners alike recognized their importance for economic development. In the midst of the ever growing literature on technology management and entrepreneurship began to appear a few years ago publications and workshops on technoentrepreneurship. As a new area of research, its contours are not sharply defined but more and more researchers are recognising that mixing the two bodies of literature makes sense to answer the questions asked among others by managers and founders of high-tech start-ups and by the political entities supporting them. This PDW aims at gathering the researchers interested in technoentrepreneurship to work together on the research agenda by sharing our current research and projects. This would be the third edition of a PDW on technoentrepreneurship after Hawaii 2005 and Philadelphia 2007, with a number of participants steadily growing. The workshop will be divided into two sections led by the 'participants' and 'presenters' respectively. The first section will delve on interpreting the empirical evidence presented by the participants. This would involve researchers sharing their research ideas in an informal setting. The objective is to bring together a globally diverse set of research agendas in this nascent area. We expect the participants to draw from research settings around the world. The second section will focus on identifying the theoretical underpinnings [or lack thereof] of the potentially diverse knowledge-base of this nascent field. To this effect the workshop will be an exercise in developing a multi-disciplinary approach to the field of techno-entrepreneurship. The presenters who will be drawn from a wide array of disciplinary background - IO, Evolutionary & Behavioral Economics; Sociology, Psychology, Economic Sociology, etc. - will provide insights into existing theoretical streams in their respective areas of expertise that could possibly explain the data discussed in the previous section. The objective is to develop a theoretical base in order to add the rigor required by the field to stand on its own.
