Because I received my copy of this book by Fairlie and Robb today, I thought I would respond to the complaint about nomenclature.  In the book itself, the terms used are pretty consistently either black-, Asian-, or white-owned (and also Latino-owned) or African American and Asian American.

Most sociology literature in the last 20 to 30 years use Asian American not Asian. Asians refer to people in a different continent.

A US company owned by a Japanese person in Japan maybe correctly called Asian Owned.

This nomenclature might have been a matter of political correctness 20 years ago but now it is a matter of academic accuracy.
