    William S. Spears Chair

    Entrepreneurship

    Oklahoma State University

The William S. Spears School of Business invites applications for the Spears Chair.  The Chair offers an exciting opportunity for a select individual to be involved in the creation of a world-class, comprehensive entrepreneurship program at Oklahoma State University.

The primary responsibility of the Spears Chair will be to provide leadership to OSU's research efforts in entrepreneurship by conducting an active personal research program, working with established senior scholars, and mentoring the research efforts of junior faculty and doctoral students.   In addition to research responsibilities, the Chair will teach courses in the Entrepreneurship Department and have some involvement in the activities of the Center and development of the OSU Entrepreneurship Program.

The successful applicant will be an established and nationally respected researcher in entrepreneurship.  An earned doctorate in a relevant discipline is required.  The compensation and research support package is highly competitive.

The Entrepreneurship Department and Center have recently been created as a result of a generous gift of $28.6 million.  Total endowment of the Entrepreneurship Program will be in excess of $50 million with matching funds received.  The Department will offer graduate courses in entrepreneurship, an undergraduate major, and an undergraduate, cross-campus minor.  The Department will also conduct leading academic and applied research in entrepreneurship. The Center will sponsor a number of executive and continuing education programs.

With nearly 4,000 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students, the Spears School of Business offers undergraduate degrees in business administration, six masters degrees including MBA and accounting, and PhD degrees in business administration and economics.  In holding to its land-grant heritage, the Spears School is dedicated to outstanding research, teaching, and outreach.
