SIXTH WEST COAST RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM
ON TECHNOLOGY ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Stanford Technology Ventures Program (Stanford University), the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (University of Washington), the Lloyd Greif Center of Entrepreneurial Studies (USC), the and the Lundquist Center for Entrepreneurship (University of Oregon) are sponsoring the 6th West Coast Research Symposium on Technology Entrepreneurship on September 5 and 6, 2008.
A one-day Doctoral Student Workshop will be held prior to the research symposium, supported by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

We invite doctoral students to submit applications to attend this workshop. Sessions will focus on technology entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on contemporary work in the field. Faculty participating in the workshop include Kathy Eisenhardt, Stanford Univ.; Riitta Katila, Stanford Univ.; Suresh Kotha, Univ. of Washington; Alan Meyer, Univ. of Oregon; Nandini Rajagopalan, Univ. of Southern California, Duane Ireland, Texas A&M Univ.; Gautam Ahuja, Univ. of Michigan; Huggy Rao, Stanford Univ.; and Raghu Garud, Penn State Univ.
The workshop aspires to provide an intellectually stimulating experience, map the theoretical domain of technology entrepreneurship, and build community. Students will read several articles on entrepreneurship and come prepared to discuss them. Workshop participants will have opportunities to present their own research interests, to interact with each other, and to get acquainted with faculty members.
Students selected for the workshop will be invited to attend the two-day research symposium that follows (September 5th and 6th), which will showcase cutting-edge work by technology entrepreneurship researchers from the Northwest and around the country.
Applicants focusing on the nexus of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship who are at or beyond the third year of their doctoral studies will be given preference. Each attendee will be provided with a $300 travel stipend, as well as all meals and 3 nights lodging (double occupancy).
