Max Planck Institute Workshop on the Allocation of Entrepreneurship

The Max Planck Institute of Economics announces the first invited
workshop on the allocation of entrepreneurship on ?xml:namespace prefix
= st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />April 4-5,
2008. This workshop is motivated by the increasing research and policy
interest on the subject. ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
The ultimate purpose of the workshop is to support and generate
high-quality research on the allocation of entrepreneurship. The goal is
to create research agendas around which senior and junior researchers
can identify and collaborate. It is expected that papers and long-term
projects will result from this workshop.
The workshop will be structured around themed discussion sessions. In
order for in-depth topical analysis and interaction, attendance will be
limited to less than 10 papers. Please direct questions about the
conference and submissions to Sameeksha Desai (

We invite papers on the following topics and themes relevant to the
allocation of entrepreneurship:
· Cross-disciplinary research
· Productive, unproductive and destructive entrepreneurship
· Political economy and political science approaches
· Dynamics of institutions
Submission details
Full papers and concept papers up to 25 pages (excluding references,
tables and graphs) are invited. PhD students may submit a literature
review of the same length. All submissions must be accompanied by an
abstract of no more than 150 words. Please send submissions to
desai@econ.mpg.de no later than February 7, 2008.
Important dates
Submission of paper/literature review: February 7, 2008
Notification of acceptance: February 28, 2008
Confirmation of attendace: March 7, 2008
Final submission: March 21, 2008
Transportation and accommodation details
The Max Planck Institute of Economics will arrange accommodation for 1
presenting author of each accepted submission. Travel arrangements are
the responsibility of the participants. Limited grants are available for
travel; please indicate if you will need one. Please direct questions
