Entrepreneurship and business ecosystems in Kenya - Call for Chapters

  • 1.  Entrepreneurship and business ecosystems in Kenya - Call for Chapters

    Posted 12-03-2014 09:00

    Dear valued colleagues,

Please find the call for chapters for the book "Digital Kenya | The new generation of entrepreneurs". You may access the full call here http://digitalkenyabook.com/wp-content/uploads/bg/Extended%20Call%20for%20Chapters_final_2.pdf

The editors, Dr. Bitange Ndemo and Tim Weiss, seek to enhance and invigorate together with practitioners and scholars the dialog surrounding business ecosystems and entrepreneurship in Kenya. The book is strategically positioned to contribute to the international management literature on startups, (ICT) entrepreneurship, business ecosystems and doing business in Africa. Current publications tend to span the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa thereby omitting the opportunity to study one context in-depth. "Digital Kenya | The new generation of entrepreneurs" will allow an unprecedented insight into the dynamics of Kenya's business environment with a special focus on technology entrepreneurship.

The editors are open to a broad variety of theoretical and empirical contributions that focus on the social, cultural and economic forces governing business interactions in Kenya. Theoretical and empirical chapters should contextualize and foster the debate around entrepreneurship and business ecosystems as well as advance theory development. Research efforts grounded in qualitative or quantitative data are encouraged.

Details about the suggested themes can be accessed on the homepage http://digitalkenyabook.com/#call-for-chapters They include the themes Evolution Kenya's tech ecosystem, Entrepreneurial Mindset and Business Ventures, Kenyan Investors and International Investors, Organizational Culture, Strategy Tools and Management Practices as well as Entrepreneurial Profiles.

Chapters will be subject to a peer-review. Proposals should be submitted by latest January 31st, 2015.
