Apologies for cross- posting: a one-time announcement of a new AOM Listserv – "Reflections"

We now have an AOM listserv on reflections on our own profession. It's called Reflections on the Management Scholars Profession, RMSP@AOMLISTS.PACE.EDU. The subscription site, which I hope you will use and pass on to colleagues, is:

    http://aomlists.pace.edu/scripts/wa.exe?ACTMGR1=RMSP

This topic includes what some call the "sociology of knowledge" or "philosophy of science", but it is really broader. Here are 22 topics in this area - I am sure there are others, but the ones I found are:

Assessing scholarship

Bibliometric patterns (e.g. emergence of specialties)

Careers: Compensation and tenure

Careers: Competition and gamesman(person?)ship

Career effects of weak paradigms

Disciplinary influences to and from management scholarship

Ethical dilemmas in research

Ethical problems in management scholarship

Fashions and trends in management scholarship

Global competition in management scholarship

Globalization and cultural differences in management scholarship

History and development of management scholarship

Invisible colleges and schools of thought

Legitimacy of management scholarship

Management of business schools

Migration of ideas and their impacts

Normative and ritualistics aspects of management scholarship

Peer review and the publishing process

Scholarly identities and meanings

Social organization of management scholarship

Stakeholders and impacts or lacunae

Stakeholders: Broader perspectives and values
