As such, hybrids for instance seek to combine economic and ecological logics to enable corporate greening, economic and social logics to provide micro-credits, economic and governmental logics to help governmental agencies operate in more efficient ways, or economic and religious logics to provide banking solutions that conform to religious guidelines. Despite their potential, however, hybrids face a number of challenges that constrain their chances of creation, diffusion, growth, and which generally limit their chances of survival and sustainable operation. Within this broad scholarly context, we invite conceptual and empirical submissions that may address, but are not limited to, the following exemplary TOPICS AND QUESTIONS:1) Contextual setting of hybrid ventures:- Which institutional settings are more conducive to the creation/growth of hybrid ventures?- How do hybrid organizational forms diffuse within and across institutional settings?2) Recognizing opportunities for hybrid ventures:- How do entrepreneurs recognize and refine opportunities for hybrid ventures?- Who recognizes opportunities for hybrid ventures?3) Acquiring resources for hybrid ventures:- How does resource acquisition differ between hybrid and 'classic' ventures?- Human resources: How do entrepreneurs build teams and networks for hybrid ventures?- Financial resources: How do entrepreneurs acquire financial resources for hybrid ventures?4) Creating, growing, and exiting hybrid ventures:- How are hybrid ventures created/maintained/developed?- How do hybrid ventures prevent a 'value drift'?- How do entrepreneurs exit hybrid ventures?APPLICATION:To allow for in-depth scholarly discussions, the oikos Young Scholars Entrepreneurship Academy is limited to 15 participants (Ph.D. candidates; PostDocs or Young faculty).
