PhD in Business Administration, Organizations and Social Change
We invite you to learn more about the Organizations and Social Change track of PhD in Business Administration at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Our PhD in Business Administration is quite distinctive in that we focus intensively on how research and analytical skills can be deployed in the private, public, and non-profit sectors for advancing the economic and social health of regions both locally and globally.
Due to applicant requests, we have extended to application deadline to January 31, 2013 (for Fall 2013 admission).
The College of Management at UMass Boston is dedicated to supporting students' efforts to understand organization and social change in its complexity, specifically in its application to real world issues. We offer a unique blend of academic and practical applications in organization theory. Our faculty's research interests span business disciplines, including organization theory, strategy, entrepreneurship, diversity, international management, non-profit management, negotiations, and critical management studies; we are also anchored in disciplines such as sociology and political economy. We are deeply involved in current issues of management and organizational studies through writing, research, and ongoing work in industry and government. Current PhD students did their Master's level studies in business, education, finance, international management, and sociology (although a Master's is not required, some prior research experience is helpful).
