    Colorado State University, a land grant, Carnegie Doctoral/Research Extensive University of 30,000 students, invites applications and nominations for the position of Department Chair of Management in the College of Business. This position reports directly to the Dean of the College of Business. The successful candidate will have the intellect, integrity, and administrative acumen to lead evolutionary change in the department in partnership with the faculty, students, and administrative members of the College of Business. Salary is competitive, depending upon qualifications. Colorado State University offers a competitive benefits package.

    Position Description: The department chair is the administrative and academic officer of the department and is responsible for leadership, strategic planning, curriculum, personnel, and budget issues in the department. Specific responsibilities include: provide leadership of academic, research, and development issues; mentor faculty; conduct departmental administration, including preparation and administration of the departmental budget; prepare class schedules and teaching assignments; conduct standards-based annual evaluations of faculty and staff in department; initiate recommendations for appointments, advancement, and tenure; publish discipline relevant research; guide the department in assessment and accreditation efforts; and lead departmental fundraising and alumni relations efforts.

    Qualifications: Required qualifications include a PhD in a relevant discipline, a record sufficient for appointment as a full professor, appropriate teaching experience, and the ongoing ability to publish in premier and high quality academic journals. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated excellence in administrative endeavors, successful experience with job supervision of professionals, and the ability to interact effectively with the business community.

    Department: One of five departments in the College of Business, the department of management consists of 16 tenured/tenure-track faculty members. The department has three areas of strategic focus including entrepreneurship and innovation, supply chain management, and organizational behavior/HR. The department serves approximately 500 undergraduate students in the concentration, as well as 70 on-campus and 1200 off-campus M.B.A. candidates. The MBA is offered via a part-time evening program and via a nationally-acclaimed distance program. Management faculty may also teach in the Denver Executive MBA program, the Global Social and Sustainable Enterprises MBA program, and the Masters in Management Practice program.
