Call for Papers
2nd Conference on Nordic Innovation Research,
December 3-4 2007;
Luleå University of Technology
We invite researchers and especially doctoral students to submit contributions to the second NIR conference 2007. We also welcome doctoral students to participate as listeners, and professors and post-doc researchers to act in a tutor role in the conference. The conference will be jointly organized by University of Oulu and Luleå University of Technology. The conference takes place at Luleå University of Technology on the 3rd and 4th of December 2007.
The focus of the conference is different aspects on Management of Innovation. Specific areas of interest for the conference are:
Product innovation (process, methods/tools)
Innovation capability (organizational as well as individual; creativity, human aspects of innovation)
Functional product development (product service systems)
Innovative strategies (e.g. scenario planning, early need-finding, open innovation systems)
Commercialization of technology, new venture creation
Regional innovation systems, innovative networks
The conference is devoted to support doctoral students in their actual work. We encourage doctoral students to submit papers within some current part of their thesis. Well structured papers clearly presenting theoretical and/or empirical frames with analysis, results and with emerging questions are encouraged as this will give the professors and doctors a better possibility to provide more accurate comments. At the same time we also encourage students in their early phase to submit papers which are outlining a research problem and a preliminary research strategy.
The conference will consist of keynote presentations by the invited speakers, paper sessions with doctoral students' presentations, comments, and discussions. An evening "get-together" on Monday December 3rd is also on the agenda. Besides the formal program, the conference on NIR provides an excellent opportunity for doctoral students to meet with other doctoral students and instructors, and share topical research experiences in their field. All refereed submissions will be available to all participants in form of electronic proceedings which will be available at the conference.
