    Dear Colleagues,

    This is the fourth year of the Mason Entrepreneurship Research Conference (MERC) that is being organized by the School of Management and the School of Public Policy at George Mason University. This year the event is sponsored by the Northern Virginia Technology Council. We have received many completed papers with very wide topics on entrepreneurship and many more working papers for this conference that will be held on FRIDAY MARCH 28, 2008.

    The program is very exciting and this year we opened up participation for any one interested in general topics of entrepreneurship such as innovation, risk taking, new products development, small business management, IPO and small business, government regulation and entrepreneurial firms, entrepreneurship and regional development, social entrepreneurship, corporate entrepreneurship etc and we have received papers not only from faculty from George Mason and surrounding universities such as George Washington, Loyola College of MD and Shenandoah University but many other well known national and international institutions such as Babson College, Clemson University, Drexel University, Duke University, Durham University, Emory University, Max Planck Institute of Economics, NFIB Research Foundation, Queensland University of Technology, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Singapore Management University, St. Louis University, Turku School of Economics, University of Amsterdam, Univers
    ity of Cincinnati, University of Illinois, University of New South Wales.

    This is an invitation to all of you to attend this conference as well as forward this invitation to other interested faculty at your respective institutes. While the early bird registration discount is not available anymore for the registration cost is only US$ 75. Please note a discount for PhD Students is till available. The charges for the conference includes morning breakfast, several coffee breaks, lunch followed by wine & cheese reception in the evening. It also includes a very interesting talk from the editor of Journal of Business Venturing, Sankaran Venkataraman. He is the MasterCard Professor of Business Administration at the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Virginia.
