Dear Entrepreneurship Friends,
This is not an "academic" post; rather, it is an entrepreneurial post.
I have a good friend who is interested in purchasing mass quantities of chia seeds, which are best grown in countries near the equator. Chia seeds, traditionally grown in Bolivia, are rich in nutrients and Omega 3. To see a recent article in the WSJ about the chia seed, go to http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204301404577171061283988408.html.
My friend is a successful entrepreneur, and he has pledged that a large percentage of his proceeds to help fund my non-profit, youth enterprise program (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship-SAGE- http://sageglobal.org).
Does anyone know any farmers in Bolivia, Philippines, or other countries who are currently growing the Chia plant (Salvia hispanica)? If so, I would appreciate it if you would send me a personal email with contact information. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Curt
