Entrepreneurship Faculty Position
The Department of Management at Appalachian State University invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of
Assistant, Associate or Professor beginning August, 2007. Candidates
for this position will be expected to provide instruction in
entrepreneurship and other management courses, maintain an active
program of scholarship, and participate in service activities. With a
newly established Center for Entrepreneurship, the College of Business
and the University are seeking to expand entrepreneurship initiatives
across campus. Qualifications for this position include: (a) Ph.D. or
ABD with completion of the Ph.D. degree prior to faculty appointment,
(b) demonstrated accomplishments in teaching and research, and (c)
enthusiasm for working with students. Salary and rank will be
commensurate with qualifications.
Appalachian State University is a member institution of the
sixteen-campus University of North Carolina System. Appalachian State
University is consistently recognized as a leading comprehensive,
regional university in annual /U.S. News and World Report/ surveys.
Located in Boone, North Carolina, the University has approximately
15,000 students, primarily in bachelors and masters programs in both
liberal arts and applied fields. Appalachian has both a traditional
residential campus and a variety of distance education programs, with
faculty committed to teaching, scholarship and service.
The Walker College of Business has approximately 2,300 students and is
accredited by the AACSB at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
Currently 20 faculty in the Department of Management teach courses in 4
undergraduate programs with majors in Management (on- and off-campus),
International Business, Health Care Management and Hospitality & Tourism
Management. We also support on- and off-campus MBA programs, and a
Masters program in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Human
Resource Management.

(b) evidence of teaching effectiveness and research accomplishments, and
(c) contact information for at least three professional references.
Formal review of completed applications will begin November 10, 2006 and
will continue until the position is filled.
