    Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program

    Program Director Position

     

    JOB PURPOSE: 

    This position is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Hogan Entrepreneurial Leadership Program.  The Program Director is primarily responsible for overall program management, fund raising, and marketing and public relations.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

     

    Program Operations:

            Develops and implements the strategic plan.

            Manages the Hogan Program staff and budget.

            Oversees the co-curriculum including mentor programs, internship program, the New Venture Lab, and the Business Plan Competition.

            Supervises the student recruitment and admissions process.

            Plans annual socials, special events, and guest speakers.

            Plans Special Summer Program.

            Selects the recipients of specially designated student scholarships.

            Develops and maintains a strong student and staff culture in support of the Hogan Program's mission, values and goals.

            Evaluates all aspects of program performance at least annually.

     

    Marketing and Public Relations:

            Develops and manages program marketing and communications strategy.

            Establishes and maintains effective community relations.

            Maintains Program web site, Black Board site, and Hogan Leaders web portal.

            Maintains communication with alumni, develops alumni network, and documents alumni outcomes.

            Represents the Hogan Program in the community and at regional and national conferences.

     

    Fund Development:

            Works with University Relations on sustaining fund raising and grant writing.

            Secures financial sponsorships for the Business Plan Competition.

     

    Other Functions: 

            Collaborates with Academic Director on matters pertaining to Hogan Program curriculum and to assign faculty to program courses. 

     

    SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED:

    The Program Director reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business Administration and receives functional direction from the President of the University.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Functions are usually performed sitting but may involve some amount of time standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting (max. 30 lbs.), walking, carrying, and reaching while filing and other duties.  Extensive wrist and hand movement related to computer keyboard work.  Ability to travel required.  Ability to be mobile campus wide for appropriate business needs.

     

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Applicants must meet the required qualifications and be able to explain or demonstrate how they can perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. 

            Bachelor's degree.

            Minimum five-year track record of success and proven administrative experience in an entrepreneurial environment and/or significant involvement in the development of a business.

            Ability to understand and articulate the mission and values of the Hogan Program.

            Effective interpersonal skills.

            Strong verbal and written communication skills.

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

            Experience in fund raising, sales, and marketing.

            Experience in a university setting.

            Masters degree.
