    Assistant/Associate Professor of Strategic Management/Entrepreneurship

     

    Assistant/Associate Professor at the <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">North Carolina</st1:placename> <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Charlotte</st1:place></st1:city>. The Department of Management at the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">North Carolina Charlotte</st1:placename></st1:place> invites applications for a tenure-track position with rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning Fall 2009. Rank will be determined depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. The department offers an undergraduate degree in Management, a concentration in Management in the MBA program, and participates in the interdisciplinary Organizational Science Ph.D. program.

     

    Responsibilities: The position entails teaching in the areas of strategic management and entrepreneurship. Teaching loads are competitive with those expected in a research-oriented business school. The chosen candidate will be expected to maintain a high level of research productivity in leading academic journals, provide quality teaching, and academic and professional service.

     

    Qualifications: Applicants for assistant professor must hold an earned doctorate in Management from an accredited research university. Applicants must evidence a potential for publishing in leading academic journals, some evidence of teaching ability, teaching experience in entrepreneurship is desirable. Candidates are expected to complete all requirements for the Ph.D. before the date of appointment. If all requirements have not been completed, a one-year term appointment at the rank of instructor will be offered. Applicants for associate professor must hold an earned doctorate in Management from an accredited research university. A record of publications on strategic management or entrepreneurship in leading academic journals is required as well as a demonstrated teaching ability in strategic management and entrepreneurship is expected.

     

    Setting: The <st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename w:st="on">North Carolina</st1:placename> at <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Charlotte</st1:place></st1:city> is a doctoral, research intensive university located in one of the nation's fastest growing and dynamic metropolitan areas. <st1:city w:st="on">Charlotte</st1:city> is the second largest financial center in the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">United States</st1:place></st1:country-region>. UNCC is an expanding modern campus located in a suburban setting with urban amenities.
