    Babson College

    New Position- Assistant Professor Entrepreneurship

    Start Date- Sept. 1, 2009

     

    Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in Entrepreneurship at Babson College (http://www.babson.edu). The position requires  a principal teaching and research focus in entrepreneurship including the ability to teach in one or more of the areas of new venture creation and growth, family business, international entrepreneurship, or social venturing/enterprise development. Duties include research, teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels, and professional service within the College and community.

     

    Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship (or related discipline), have demonstrated success in college teaching and an active research program primarily in entrepreneurship. Candidates who understand the interconnection between entrepreneurship and other management areas and bring a global perspective to their teaching and research are particularly welcome. Educational background in other fields (i.e. psychology, sociology, political science, journalism, international studies, liberal arts) or business disciplines (i.e. marketing, management, operations, information technology, finance) is desirable. Candidates should be motivated and committed to Entrepreneurship research and teaching, and work experience in an entrepreneurial context is preferred. Experience teaching in a graduate program, executive education, international program, integrated or distance learning program is beneficial.  Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.  Salary is competitive but will depend on qualifications, entrepreneurial experience, and research record.

    Babson College, located in Wellesley, Mass,  was ranked #1 in Entrepreneurship for both the graduate and undergraduate schools consecutively for the past 13 years by US News and World Report.  Founded in 1904, Babson enrolls 1700 undergraduate students and approximately 1400 MBA students. The College offers 4 MBA programs (two year, one year, part time, and Fast Track blended) along with a variety of Executive Education programs.  Babson College is the home of the 47 country Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), the Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Program (STEP) researching family enterprise, and the Diana Project that studies women's entrepreneurship.  For 20 years, Babson College hosts the Babson College Entrepreneurship Research Conference (BCERC) and the Price/Babson SEE program for Entrepreneurship Educators.  A variety of programs are offered internationally for practitioners, students and educators. 

    The earliest appointment date is Sept. 1, 2009
