Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship at Syracuse: Come Innovate
With Us
We would like to invite an emerging scholar to join us as we continue
to grow one of the premier academic programs in entrepreneurship. The
Department of Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises (EEE) at
Syracuse University is seeking a high potential scholar to join a
growing team of academic entrepreneurs dedicated to leading edge
research, curriculum innovation, and high impact regional, national, and
international outreach.
Launched in the early 1992, EEE is the flagship program at the Whitman
School of Management. In addition to a major and minor in
entrepreneurship, an MBA concentration, and a Ph.D. program in
entrepreneurship, students can participate in innovative internships,
our entrepreneurship dormitory, various competitions, and unique summer
programs. The curriculum includes 24 EEE courses. The School hosts major
conferences on entrepreneurship, conducts research in the field, and has
been a leader in establishing collaborative relationships with other
programs nationally. Syracuse is also the home of the Experiential
Classroom and the editorial home of Journal of Developmental
Entrepreneurship and the Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance and Business
Ventures. Outreach programs include Women Igniting the Spirit of
Entrepreneurship (WISE), the South Side Entrepreneurial Connect Project
(an inner city initiative), the Panasci Business Plan Competition, and
the Syracuse Entrepreneurs Bootcamp, among others.
Entrepreneurship at Syracuse has received major support from alumni and
the business community, including major endowments for different
elements of the program. Additionally, the programs are supported by the
Michael J. Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship, which coordinates
outreach activities and student initiatives, and the John Couri Student
Incubator. More information on the program can be found at
http://www.whitman.syr.edu/eee/.
Candidates for the position must be able to contribute to all three
program elements--research, teaching, and outreach. Candidates should
hold an earned doctorate in entrepreneurship or a closely related
discipline, and must be able to demonstrate strong research potential.
We expect the selected individual to join the team prior to the 2007-08
academic year, and will be interviewing at the 2006 AOM meetings.
Application materials should include a letter describing the
candidate's interest in and qualifications for the position, curriculum
vitae, and the names, addresses, email addresses, and telephone numbers
of at least three individuals who can serve as references. While the
application deadline is open, review of applications will begin on July
1, and the EEE Department will hold initial interviews at the Academy of
Management meetings in Atlanta.
Requests for information and written nominations and applications
should be directed to:
