The Department of Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Innovation in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is currently hiring for two positions: a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a specialization in strategic management, entrepreneurship, innovation, and/or organizational research methods, and a non-tenure track faculty position of Teaching Assistant Professor. The expected start date for both positions is August, 2025.

For the tenure track Assistant Professor position, job duties include research, teaching, and service. Conducting and publishing research in the top academic journals in the field is the primary job duty. Teaching expectations include teaching in person classes at the undergraduate, masters, or doctoral level and holding in person office hours. Finally, the position requires service to the profession, university, college, and department commensurate with rank.

The non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor position is a 9-month faculty appointment, with possibilities for summer teaching. The successful candidate is expected to teach eight courses (24 credits) per year with a mix of face-to-face and online instruction, as needed, normally with no more than two different course preparations per semester. The specific course assignments will be determined by the department chair based on the needs of the department and the expertise of the faculty member. This position will also be expected to engage in intellectual contributions of the practical and/or academic types and in service activities that contribute to the department, college, university and professional community.

The Sam M. Walton College of Business, founded at the University of Arkansas in 1926 and accredited by AACSB International since 1931, has been ranked as a top 30 public business school for 15 years in a row by U.S. News & World Report. U.S. News currently ranks Walton College 28th. Four Walton College graduates serve as CEOs of Fortune 500 companies and nearly 30 Walton alumni occupy executive offices at Fortune 500 companies. In 1998, the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation gave Walton College an endowment of $50 million, then the largest up-front cash gift to a business school. The college has experienced extremely strong growth in enrollment over the past several years (over 23% increase since fall 2021). Fall 2023 enrollment included over 8200 undergraduate and 580 graduate students.
