In the last few years there have been increasingly vibrant calls for change for women in organizations. The #MeToo movement and calls for more gender-inclusive processes have highlighted the problem of gender inequality even for women in senior positions. The goal of this conference is to discuss the struggles and challenges women face as they advance to senior positions and to explore how women cope successfully with them, in particular in the field of finance.

We are proud to announce the 1st Israel Conference on Gender Equality and Management (GEM) to be held at the Shavit Center, Israel, on 2-3 May 2023. This conference aims to contribute to global efforts to develop a thriving international community stance on gender inequality at work and  promote debate on optimal ways to increase equality and reduce barriers to women when moving up in the hierarchal ladder.

Keynote Speaker:  Morten Huse, Professor emeritus at BI Norwegian Business School. With his groundbreaking research, publications and practice, he has made main contributions to board gender quota regulations in Europe. He was president of the European Academy of Management (EURAM 2010-12), member of the board of Catalyst Europe (2009-14) and of the board at the Academy of Management (AOM 2019-22). His research agenda includes contributing to gender equality in business and society, with a focus on questions related to getting women on boards, value creating boards and to developing a "sharing" philosophy when conducting management research. He has received the TIAW Global Award for championing the Economic Development of Women.

The Call for Papers is now open on the theme of : Is It a Man's World? Struggles and Challenges of Senior-Level Executive Women.
