    Dear colleagues, 

    The Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) at the University of Geneva is opening a Research and Teaching Assistant position (100%) at the Institute of Management (IoM). The candidate is expected to write a doctoral thesis in management and will be enrolled in the PhD program at IoM, under the supervision of Professor Christina Hertel (GSEM) and Professor Sophie Bacq (IMD), and will be affiliated with the Geneva Responsible Entrepreneurship Center (GREC) and IMD's Social Entrepreneurship Initiative. The PhD position is part of a four-year research project funded by the SNFS titled "Unleashing Civic Wealth Creation Through Community Entrepreneurship". The research project explores the types, dynamics, and effects of civic wealth creation initiatives involving community entrepreneurship. Starting Date: December 1st, 2024 or January 1st, 2025.

    Applications with the following documents must be submitted exclusively by email at christina.hertel@unige.ch and sophie.bacq@imd.org before July 31st, 2024, midnight, Geneva time:

    • A short motivation letter (maximum 2 pages) describing main work experience, competencies, and qualifications as well as reasons why the candidate wants to start a PhD thesis on this particular topic;
    • A curriculum vitae;
    • Copies of Bachelor's and Master's degrees (Master's students who will be finishing their studies by December 2024 are also eligible);
    • Copies of grades obtained during Master studies;
    • Contact details of one potential reference, who might be contacted for more information.

    After reviewing the applications received, we will contact a selection of applicants inviting them to attend further application rounds including a Zoom interview and the submission of an initial research proposal.
