    Call for Applications

    IM Division Junior Faculty Consortium

Application deadline: Monday, 6th June 2022

The International Management (IM) Division will hold its annual Junior Faculty Consortium (JFC), during this year's Academy of Management Meeting in Seattle. This all-day, in-person event will take place on Sunday, 7th August 2022 (specific timing details will be updated as the meeting program is developed). Places in the JFC are limited; the application deadline is 6th June 2022.

The JFC is designed for junior colleagues who have defended their PhD thesis within the past five years, and are facing the challenges of building a successful academic career in the field of International Management. It will provide a unique opportunity for junior faculty to engage in conversation – regarding key issues such as career progression, research, publishing, teaching, and service – with leaders in our field from around the world. The faculty panel for the JFC includes a mix of distinguished senior and mid-career academics, who will offer their insights and advice on these important issues, reflecting their broad experience as scholars, teachers, editors and editorial board members, and administrators. Through a combination of structured panels, round-table discussions, and informal interactions, we will tackle questions such as the risks and opportunities of choosing a career in IM; obtaining tenure/confirmation; building a scholarly reputation; developing a research/publishing strategy for greater impact on the field; and maintaining a healthy balance among research, teaching, and service. The JFC will conclude with a "Meet-the-Editors" session, which will provide an invaluable opportunity to hear directly from Editors of some of the leading journals in the IM field.

The 2022 IM Division JFC will be chaired by Elizabeth Rose (IIM Udaipur, India) and Irina Surdu-Nardella (U. of Warwick, UK). The panel is scheduled to include:

Kristin Brandl (U. of Victoria, Canada)

Tazeeb Rajwani (U. of Surrey, UK)

Tailan Chi (U. of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA)

    A. Rebecca Reuber (U. of Toronto, Canada)

Raveendra Chittoor (U. of Victoria, Canada)

    Charles Stevens (Lehigh, U., USA)

    Jesper Edman (Waseda U., Japan)

    Arjen Witteloostuijin (VU Amsterdam, Netherlands)

    Cristina Gibson (Pepperdine U., USA)

Davina Vora (SUNY New Paltz, USA)

Peder Greve (U. of Reading, UK)

    Ivo Zander (Uppsala U., Sweden)

Chang Hoon Oh (U. of Kansas, USA)

To apply, please submit your application – by Monday, 6th June 2022 – to Beth Rose (Elizabeth.Rose@iimu.ac.in) and Irina Surdu-Nardella (Irina.Surdu@wbs.ac.uk). Your application should include the following, compiled into a single file:
