The AOM Entrepreneurship Division will host a Global Scholar Development Social at the Annual Meeting in Chicago. We do this to encourage connections among emerging entrepreneurship scholars from around the globe and to help them appreciate the benefits of participating in the ENT Div community. Our own appreciation of the importance of international and multinational research in the field of entrepreneurship is leading the advancement of the Global Scholar Development Committee.
This year the Social will be held on Saturday, Aug 10 2024 9:00AM - 11:00AM (CT) at Hyatt Regency Chicago in Grand Hall H.
In addition to attending the Social, we are inviting submissions for the Ideation Session to be held during the Social.
Essentially, global scholar participants will be invited to "elevator pitch" their research ideas to a panel of editors and Senior Academics in Entrepreneurship, Management and Finance. During the Ideation session, presenters will strive to convince journal editor/Senior Academic panelists of potential of research question, theoretical application and methodology. Panelists will in turn provide a couple of pointers to further improve ideas to successfully execute papers toward possible future publication in the represented journals.
If you are a Phd student or scholar (GS) and are interested in participating in the Ideation session, I invite you to submit (1) a written pitch, and if accepted , (2) a matching 2 minute elevator pitch; in the following sequence of steps:
Pre-conference
1: GSs will submit a short one-page written pitch to sjohan@fau.edu with email header GS Social Ideation session. Please submit by July 25, 2024
2: A final set of pitches will be selected for the session. You will be informed by July 30, 2024.
3: GSs will be asked to design one PPT slide according to their written pitch for the oral pitch during the conference.
During-conference
5: Pitches will be scheduled in 7 minute increments (2 minute pitch, 5 minute panelist comments). Each oral pitch will be followed by comments led by one panelist followed by no more than 3 panelists (and from the audience, time permitting)
Of course, Global Scholars who are not participating in the Ideation Session are encouraged to attend to meet other scholars and Editors/Senior Academics during the Social to be held on Saturday, Aug 10 2024 9:00AM - 11:00AM (CT) at Hyatt Regency Chicago in Grand Hall H.
