    Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce a mini-conference, Decentralization in Organizations (DiO), organized by Vivianna Fang He (University of St.Gallen), Ying-Ying Hsieh (Imperial College London), Mike Lee (INSEAD), Phanish Puranam (INSEAD), and Melissa Schilling (NYU Stern). Recent years have seen a proliferation of decentralized forms of organizing: Platform Ecosystems, Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), less hierarchical organizations (e.g., open-source communities and Gig work), and social movements. Decentralization stands as a key ingredient in many important contemporary organizational phenomena. However, research on decentralization in organizations remains much fragmented.

We are thrilled to have invited an exciting lineup of scholars who work in this space across levels of analysis to present and discuss their works. The goal is to learn from each other and build some common understanding of the concept of decentralization. You can find the detailed conference program and the list of speakers here.

The Institute of Responsible Innovation at the University of St.Gallen will be hosting the in-person event, and we would like to extend online participation to a broader audience who is also enthusiastic about the topic. Please register here to receive the link to join us online.

    Look forward to seeing you!

    Best regards,

    The Organizers
