The symposium will be held June 17th-June 19th at the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) in Amsterdam. We are pleased to gather the following esteemed keynote speakers and guests: Martin Ruef (Duke University), Olav Sorenson (UCLA), Mario Luis Small (Columbia University), Nicole Marwell (University of Chicago), Sunasir Dutta (University of Minnesota), Jon Bannister (Manchester University), Debra Minkoff (Barnard College), Arjen van Witteloostuijn (Vrij Universiteit), Filippo Carlo Wezel (Università della Svizzera italiana), Carolina Castaldi (Utrecht University) and Christof Brandtner (emlyon).
As part of our symposium, and to bridge both academia and society, we are hosting a public event at Spui25 to reflect on this topic and the local context of the Netherlands. The Dutch are famous for their tradition of landscape and urban planning, and we are pleased to feature renowned urban planner Adriaan Geuze (TU Delft, West 8) and Jeroen Slot from the Amsterdam municipality to speaking on one major Amsterdam-related classical planning project and one recent experiment. This event is planned for June 18th 17:00-19:00.
