Call for FinTech Chapters: The Palgrave Handbook of Breakthrough Technologies in Contemporary Organisations
We are calling for two chapters addressing FinTech in The Palgrave Handbook of Breakthrough Technologies in Contemporary Organisations. The Handbook is comprised of 35 Chapters.
Whilst the title and contents of the following two chapters can be modified, the chapter must align with the FinTech theme. The two chapters are as follows:
- Concerns about the Rapid Growth of FinTech: Data Privacy, Breach and
Cybersecurity Issues and the Resulting Regulatory Reforms
People are apprehensive about sharing their personal information. However, without this data, FinTech companies that rely heavily on information can neither thrive nor offer their benefits to consumers. Hence, it is crucial that any privacy protection regulations are meticulously crafted to address this dilemma. In this chapter, we examine the impact of the 'General Data Protection Regulation' (GDPR) on the privacy protocols of FinTech firms. We've observed that privacy policies have expanded in length and adopted a more uniform language, which unfortunately leads to poorer user understanding. This challenges the essence of GDPR, which is to safeguard individuals through transparent data processing practices. In addition, we connect the content of these privacy policies to specific factors within the FinTech field. We also highlight a trend of imitation among FinTech contemporaries, both in terms of the data they handle and their transparency measures.
2) – Emerging Research on FinTech Companies Products and Services
This chapter offers a comprehensive review of primary themes concerning FinTech and tracing their association since the 2008 financial crisis and earlier. FinTech represents a revolutionary shift, presenting finance with a chance to unleash its full capacity, thereby offering the global community a genuinely sustainable, ethical, and alternative financial system. This chapter discerns and methodically investigates the literature on FinTech-driven innovative financial services, the breadth of such innovations, and the challenges and repercussions for the finance sector.
Format/Requirements of the two chapters are as follows:
1. The required word limit is strictly 5000 words, including abstract, references, notes, figures, tables, etc.
2. Abstract: 200-250 words with 3 – 6 keywords.
3. UK English is used for spelling.
4. Format: Times New Roman - Font Size: 12 – double spacing.
5. Please make sure your references are consistent with the APA Style!
6. Chapters based on either primary or secondary sources of information will be considered. However, for conceptual papers/literature reviews, the author(s) should clearly highlight the main contribution(s) to the literature/field of study.
7. All chapters will be uploaded in Turnitin to check the similarity rate.
Important Dates:
- 5th of August 2024 submission of the first chapter draft. Unfortunately, no extension requests will be considered to avoid any delays in the publishing process.
- 30th of August 2024 revisions and submit the final draft within 10 days.
The full book manuscript will be submitted to Palgrave Macmillan by the end of October, 2024.
