    Positions
    As part of a continuing growth initiative, the Management Department of Tilburg University invites applications for two positions on the level of assistant professor or associate professor. We intend to hire one candidate in entrepreneurship and one candidate in strategy. We are looking for candidates with a PhD in entrepreneurship and/or strategy with demonstrated research potential/excellence in top journal publications, plus evidence of strong teaching, service, and grant application ability.  We welcome applications from individuals with research interests in corporate entrepreneurship, corporate venturing, business innovation, new venture growth and survival, startups, business models, corporate strategy, strategic renewal, strategy, international management. The candidates will join the research group of Strategy and Organization at the Department to grow our initiatives in entrepreneurship and strategy. Ph.D. candidate applicants will be expected to complete their Ph.D. prior to taking up employment. Successful applicants can join the Department in any month during 2023.

     

    The Department of Management
    The Department has a very strong research orientation with a focus on high-quality publications. Faculty members publish widely in UT Dallas journals such as ASQ, AMJ, SMJ, OrgSci, JIBS, MgtSci, MISQ, ISR, JOC, JOOM, POM and MSOM, as well as in entrepreneurship journals such as the Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and the Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal. We aim to maximize the research time available to research-active faculty and working conditions are otherwise comparable to major research universities in Europe and North America. Compensation is competitive and among the top in Dutch universities. In addition, we provide guaranteed travel and starting research budgets. Faculty moving to the Netherlands may be eligible for 30% tax abatement for a period of five years.

     

    The Department currently hosts a fast-growing bachelor program of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation, as well as the IQONIC Hub for Entrepreneurship Research and Education. Moreover, the Department is preparing a new master's program in corporate entrepreneurship. In addition, the Department offers four other master's programs and makes significant contributions to several other bachelor's programs in the School. The Department also manages two tracks of Ph.D. programs, viz., Strategy & Organization as well as Information & Supply Chain Management, which prepare future researchers for productive academic careers with excellent international placements.

     

    The members of the Department, including its Strategy and Organization section, are listed here. Department members come from leading universities in North America, Asia, and Europe. We are a diverse and collegial group of research-oriented colleagues, including a terrific group of junior and recently hired scholars. The working language of the Department and the School is English.

    Employment conditions
    For the position of Assistant Professor, we offer a fulltime tenure-track position for six years. Tenure decisions for Assistant Professors are made in their fifth year based on performance indicators agreed upon at the start of the appointment. We expect that candidates have the potential to grow towards an Associate Professor and/or Full Professor role in the future. The starting gross salary is based on scale 11 of the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities (universiteitenvannederland.nl).
     
    For the fulltime position of Associate Professor, we offer a permanent contract. The starting gross salary is based on scale 13 of the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities (universiteitenvannederland.nl).
     
    You are entitled to a holiday allowance amounting to 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% of your gross yearly income.
