    2023 Industry Studies Association
    Annual Conference

    May 31 - June 2, 2023
The Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University

    Dear Colleagues,

We warmly invite you to submit your work to the Industry Studies Association's Columbus annual meeting during May 31-June 2, 2023. The January 20th submission deadline quickly approaches.

The new year brings new resolutions, and after a turbulent few years, many of us consider what 2023 will bring. ISA's principal interest in industrial policy is well-timed to enlighten us. The conference theme on Reconceptualizing Competition: Nation, Region, Firm, and Individual reflects the emerging challenges that policymakers, labor, and industries face with the rise of the fourth industrial revolution. Because of ISA's unique cross-disciplinary approach, we share deep industry and regional knowledge, informing, and responding to, significant policy changes grappling with the digital transformation, COVID-19, rising inflation, and changing political environments. We look forward to the breadth of conversations representing #scholars#practitioners#thinktanks#institutes, and #policymakers from various fields that only the Industry Studies annual conference provides.

Columbus, Ohio, the host location for this year's conference, is ideally located to explore the conference theme. Centrally situated on The Ohio State University's beautiful campus, the conference features adjacent hotel accommodations and amenities at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business. Logistically, Ohio reaches 60% of the US and Canada's populations within a day. The state is pivotal in America's push to reinvigorate domestic manufacturing. The conference features plenaries such as JobsOhio, and The Ohio State's BRIGHT program – two important elements of the workforce and economic development for the region. There's also a fantastic session on the important and complex role of Pharmacy Benefit Managers and their impact on healthcare. Possible plant tours include Honda in Marysville (established in 1982) and a large pharmaceutical manufacturer.

We would love to see your work or session submitted to the following tracks, including the conference theme: reconceptualizing #competition#energy and #sustainability#supplychain#operations, and #manufacturing#innovation and #entrepreneurship#healthcare; and #labor and #employmentrelations, among others.

Note that the ISA dissertation award closes on January 13th. Further information will be forthcoming on the Early Career Development PDW for late-stage doctoral students, post-docs, and junior faculty.
