    Dear colleagues, 

    The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) invites applications for a new endowed Professorship in Innovation Management/Innovation Studies, to be filled at the full professor or (tenured) associate professor level. The position is at the SSE House of Innovation and its Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology.

    The House of Innovation, a newly formed environment at SSE, offers a vibrant, interdisciplinary, and highly international research, education, and outreach environment focused on innovation, digitalization, and entrepreneurship (https://ssehoi.com/home). We collaborate with a broad, influential network of academics, corporations, government agencies, and civil society actors, with the aim to contribute to the advancement of society and of the international academic community. HOI has 11 tenured and 14 tenure-track professors (including new colleagues arriving after the summer), 22 Ph.D. students, 8 postdocs, and approx. 20 affiliated research fellows, as well as a prestigious program for visiting scholars. 

    We are looking for an excellent scholar to join and play a leading role in the House. Qualified candidates are expected to have an excellent record of research, teaching, and service commensurate with a distinguished level of scholarship.  

    Suitable research orientations for the new chair include, but are not limited to: 

    • Technological change and innovation 
    • Innovation strategy 
    • Open innovation and crowdsourced innovation 
    • Innovation in alliances and networks, and collaborative innovation 
    • Breakthrough innovations and transformative innovation 
    • Disruptive innovation processes 
    • Innovation ecosystems and platform-based ecosystems 

    The position comes with reduced teaching commitments and substantive research funding, including for recruitment of Postdocs/Ph.D. students. 

    The House of Innovation (HOI)  

    HOI hosts the academic Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology, the Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Center for Innovative and Sustainable Business Development and the Scania Center for Innovation and Operational Excellence, The Garden – Center for Design and Leadership, CDA – the Center for Data Analytics, the MISUM Platform: Sustainable Business Development through Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Business transitions for the benefit of society, and The Swedish Center for Digital Innovation, Stockholm (SCDI Sthlm). We also run the SSE Business Lab start-up incubator and coordinate SSE's involvement in the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SSES), a consortium with the six major universities in Stockholm providing innovation and entrepreneurship education across the wider Stockholm area and beyond. 

    HOI faculty members regularly publish in top academic journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Management, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Management Science, Organization Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Information Systems Research, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Research Policy and Harvard Business Review. They serve on editorial boards, in editorial positions, and in academic leadership positions. They frequently receive substantial grants from leading Swedish and European funding institutions to conduct state-of-the-art research, and serve on national and international policy committees, thus contributing to the shaping of society and its innovation ecosystems.
