When:  Oct 23, 2019 from 08:00 to 16:00 (ET)
Associated with  Entrepreneurship (ENT)
Accompanying the SMS Annual Conference this year will be a one-day conference extension exploring the intersection between strategic human capital and entrepreneurship research. The conference will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the University of Wisconsin. There is no need to attend or register for SMS to attend the conference to participate in the extension.

The program includes a series of panel discussions and roundtable activities specifically designed to identify new research questions and introduce new theoretical and empirical perspectives to our work by facilitating cross-disciplinary communication among Strategic Human Capital and Entrepreneurship scholars.

Our panels will be led by a distinguished group of Entrepreneurship and Human Capital scholars, including:
  • Rajshree Agarwal, Rudolph P. Lamone Chair and Professor in Entrepreneurship and Director of the Ed Snider Center for Enterprise and Markets at the University of Maryland
  • Sharon Alvarez, Thomas W. Olofson Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies at the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh.
  • Barry Gerhart, Professor of Management and Human Resources and the Bruce R. Ellig Distinguished Chair in Pay and Organizational Effectiveness, Wisconsin School of Business
  • Charlie Trevor, Pyle - Bascom Professor in Business Leadership in the Department of Management and Human Resources at the Wisconsin School of Business
You can read more about the extension – including information about travel and accommodations – and register by clicking below.

The cost to register is only $115 for members of the Strategic Management Society and $135 for non-members, who are welcome to attend. Attendance at the SMS Annual meeting is not required to attend the extension. Breakfast and lunch are included with the registration fee.
