CALL FOR PAPERS – IMPERIAL INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONVERSATION 2019
"ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION IN THE CORPORATION" – LONDON 13 SEPTEMBER 2019

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Department at the Imperial College Business School invites you to submit research papers for presentation at its Innovation & Entrepreneurship Conversation. This annual workshop brings together cutting-edge research in innovation and entrepreneurship to explore an emergent and important theme.

This year's theme addresses entrepreneurship and innovation in the corporation. While innovation remains key to organizational success and survival, we are witnessing a proliferation of new approaches to innovation. Once dominant, the R&D laboratory is being supplemented by a host of alternative approaches to organizing innovation, including corporate accelerators, lean innovation labs, open innovation, and various types of engagement with start-up companies. Often, organizations seek to deploy entrepreneurial methods in their attempt to spur innovation, with wide-reaching implications for internal innovation processes, employee incentives, the size and shape of organizational units and the nature of collaboration with external parties.

At this year's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conversation, we will feature papers that address various aspects of this new world of corporate innovation. We welcome papers with diverse theoretical, methodological, and empirical angles. We invite both visionary discussion papers exploring future research agendas (e.g., do we need new theory for explaining these phenomena?), as well as deep dives into specific topics, including employee entrepreneurship, corporate accelerators, innovator and entrepreneur mobility, entrepreneurship-inspired corporate innovation, novel forms of organizing corporate innovation, leadership & innovation, incentives and innovation, etc.

WORKSHOP TIMES AND LOCATION
The workshop will take place at Imperial College London in South Kensington, London. There will be a dinner for invited speakers and discussants on before. The event will take the form of a focused workshop of around 10 paper presentations with assigned discussants and time for Q&A. Scholars who have already agreed to present include Nicolai Foss and Olenka Kacperczyk.
