To improve lives, we need reliable science. But the social sciences have been caught in a whirlwind of questionable research practices, non-replicable findings, and a flurry of responses. Management researchers, too, have begun a critical self- examination. To assess the situation, we will hear from colleagues who led replications efforts and initiatives at preregistration– preapproval of studies. Prominent researchers will opine and journal editors will report on initiatives considered or implemented in management journals (Org Sci, MOR, JIBS, AMJ, ASQ, SMJ, Mgmt Sci). Members of the audience will chime in with questions and opinions. The workshop aims to spur a discussion on state of research, what has been achieved, what remains to be done — and what should be the new rules of publishing in management research.
Pre-registration is required for this session. To register online, please visit https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg. The cost to register is $9.92. The deadline to register online is August 9, 2018.
