POSTDOCTORATE IN ENTREPRENEURIAL STUDIES / ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEMS
HEC Paris in Qatar is offering a postdoctoral position on the areas of Entrepreneurial Studies, with a preferred emphasis on Entrepreneurial Ecosystems, their development, common barriers to their emergence in developing nations, and best practices from around the world in OCDE countries and others. HEC Paris in Qatar is a branch campus of HEC Paris and operates in close coordination with it and under the same standards of excellence. Our campus was established in June 2010 through an agreement between HEC Paris and Qatar Foundation, and our mission is to serve the needs of businesses established in the region through the development of Executive Education and world-class relevant research, to help Qatar in its transition to a knowledge economy, and to do so with the excellence that is expected from HEC. We are a world class school as acknowledged by the Financial Times, which ranked us as the top (#1) school in Europe and also ranked our Executive MBA #1 worldwide in 2019. We are consistently ranked among the world´s top schools in a wide variety of rankings and using a large number of metrics, including student satisfaction, goals achieved, and salary increase after our programs. THE POSTDOC The main responsibility of our postdoc is to work on understanding and helping develop the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in the Gulf and MENA Region by conducting research that highlights opportunities and produces insightful results and actionable recommendations. We expect the candidates to lead and conduct original, thought-leadership and impactful research in that area, with the goal of providing high-level policy advice and publications in top journals. Resources commensurate with the objectives are available and provided. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT The present announcement aims at hiring a person who will lead these projects in collaboration with HEC faculty. The position requires being based in wonderful and cosmopolitan Doha, the capital city of the State of Qatar. HEC Paris in Qatar offers a competitive compensation package including benefits. Contract duration is 1 year, renewable if mutually desired. REQUIREMENTS Candidates are expected to have strong, world-class skills, which are reflected on the following requirements: 1) A recently completed/ nearly completed Ph.D. from a world class institution in Entrepreneurship or relevant discipline (Unfortunately, at this stage we are not able to consider online PhDs or other non-traditional Ph.D.s) 2) Proven evidence of expertise in Entrepreneurial studies with an emphasis on Entrepreneurial ecosystem. 3) An outstanding capacity to communicate with senior managers and policy makers in English (Arabic or French not required) 4) Evidence of research abilities, in the form of published papers in top journals, white papers, or any other relevant form.
