    Full/Associate/Assistant

The Department of Entrepreneurship at the University of Louisville anticipates a tenure-track faculty position in entrepreneurship at the rank of Full, Associate, or Assistant Professor beginning August, 2020, subject to final budget approval. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications. The applicant must have a Ph.D. by August 1, 2020. Candidates must demonstrate a strong research potential and a clear commitment to excellence in teaching. Candidates must possess a record of research, teaching, and service sufficient to warrant appointment as Associate or Full Professor with tenure.

We have two positions at different levels with a specific preference for one of the positions. For that position, the preference is for a candidate to teach either econometrics or statistical methods in our Ph.D. program in entrepreneurship and to teach entrepreneurship from an economics perspective. The preferred area for the second candidate is more general. However, both hires will be affiliated with the Center for Free Enterprise whose mission is to engage in research and teaching that explores the role of enterprise and entrepreneurship in advancing the well-being of society (see http://business.louisville.edu/freeenterprise/). The applicant's ability to communicate ideas relating to the mission of the Center will be an important consideration. Applicants should indicate in their letter of application how their background and research fits the Center. One of the responsibilities of the new candidates will be to help create online classes for either a certificate in entrepreneurship or a high school/undergraduate dual credit course on basic entrepreneurship, the benefits of free enterprise, and the importance of long term thinking and valued added.

Teaching responsibilities may also include online courses, undergraduate entrepreneurship courses, and possibly a course in our MBA program. The teaching load is initially 3 courses per year. Summer research support may be negotiated. Members of the Search Committee will be interviewing at the Academy of Management Meetings in Boston August 2019.
