    Two Open-Rank Tenure-Track or Tenured Positions in Entrepreneurship

     

    The Department of Management within the Debbie and Jerry Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University invites applications for two open-rank tenure-track or tenured positions with preference for advanced Assistant, Associate, or Full Professors in Entrepreneurship.

     

    This position will conduct high-impact scholarly research that is publishable in top-tier Entrepreneurship and Management journals. The selected candidate will teach courses at the undergraduate, Master's or PhD levels that support the various Entrepreneurship programs offered at ISU.

Faculty in the Entrepreneurship area at Iowa State University have published research in a wide variety of top journals, including the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal.

     

    The Ivy College of Business at Iowa State University was established in 1984. It conducts and shares research to educate tomorrow's business leaders so they are prepared to deal with multi-disciplinary, global, technological, ethical and diversity challenges. The college offers undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs and is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International).     Tied to the Ivy Business College is the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, which serves the ISU campus with educational workshops, experiential learning, student incubation, and business support, as well as the Small Business Development Center, which offers startup assistance to students, faculty, and the community. The larger entrepreneurial ecosystem at Iowa State University, under the Vice President for Economic Development & Industry Relations, includes a 400+ acre Research Park that houses more than 80 startups, a year-long startup accelerator, and a top-tier technology transfer research foundation.

     

    The Ivy Business College offers a major in Entrepreneurship and ISU offers a university-wide minor in Entrepreneurial Studies.

    Required Qualifications:

    • PhD in Entrepreneurship, Management, or a closely related field.

    • Demonstrated ability to establish strong scholarly research and teach at undergraduate, Master's, or PhD levels.

    • Demonstrated ability to mentor and work with PhD students.

     

    Required Qualifications (continued):

    For consideration to the Associate Professor rank, applicants must meet, in addition to the above qualifications, the university standards for appointment to the rank.

     

    Applicants for Professor must have, in addition to the above qualifications, a strong national and international scholarly reputation.

     

    Must meet the college's standards to be Scholarly Academic Qualified under AACSB Accreditation standards.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Scholarly research record as evidenced by publications in high quality journals.

    • Teaching experience at the undergraduate, Master's, and PhD levels.

    • Applicants for Professor should also have an ability and willingness to assume leadership roles in the Entrepreneurship programs.
