Tenure-Track Professor in Strategic Management
The Department of Industrial Engineering and Management conducts world-class research and provides impactful education on the creation and transformation of technology-based business. We are one of Europe's leading university departments in the field of technology entrepreneurship, focusing especially on strategic management and venturing, operations and service management, and entrepreneurial leadership. In <g class="gr_ gr_124 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="124" data-gr-id="124">total</g> we are more than 120 persons working in the department, including 20 professors, over 30 senior and postdoc researchers, and a large number of doctoral students.
The faculty at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management is well known for its publications in leading management journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science as well as the leading journals in the core research areas of the department such as Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Research Policy, and Journal of Operations Management in entrepreneurship, innovation, and operations and service management. The department conducts empirical research in close collaboration with the leading technology firms in Finland and Europe. The tenure-track professorship in strategic management is open to outstanding individuals with strong research and teaching interest. Ideal applicants enjoy intellectual leadership and strive for academic excellence and inspiring people around them. The call is primarily open on Assistant Professor level. However, exceptional candidates at other levels will also be considered.
The tenure-track professorship in strategic management cover research areas in strategic management, ideally contributing to our department-wide focus on the creation and transformation of technology-based business. To complement the existing faculty members and to strengthen the key areas of the department, for this professorship in strategic management, we would particularly welcome candidates with research interest and expertise in the use of analytics and quantitative methods in strategic management and decision making.

Requirements
Throughout their careers, those in the academic tenure-track system are expected to carry out and supervise scholarly research, to follow the advances of their field, to provide high-quality academic education, and to participate in service to the Aalto University community and to contribute to broader societal discussions in their field.
The applicants should hold a doctorate in a discipline relevant for this position or receive the degree before the beginning of the contract.
