    Dear colleagues,
I am writing to invite you to join the AoM symposium on business accelerators and early-stage ventures.
Business Accelerators and the Development of Early-Stage Ventures
    Program Session: 1796 | Submission: 17606 | Sponsor(s): (ENT, STR)
Scheduled: Tuesday, Aug 14 2018 11:30AM - 1:00PM at Hyatt Regency Chicago in Regency B
As the popularity and reach of accelerators and other entrepreneurial support organizations expand, their potential to impact early-stage ventures increases. Yet our understanding of how they operate as well as how effective they are in influencing entrepreneurial outcomes has been hampered by the newness of these organizations as well as the lack of reliable data. The goal of this symposium is to enhance our understanding of accelerators by presenting five empirical papers that focus on questions exploring the processes as well as outcomes associated with these organizations. Each paper focuses on a different aspect of the entrepreneurial process, from resource mobilization, to organizational learning and market competition, to resource endowments and third-party evaluations, to entrepreneurial outcomes such as survival and funding outcomes. Collectively, these papers provide insight into how accelerators impact entrepreneurial outcomes for early-stage ventures.
