The Opportunity

As part of its growth ambitions, VU Amsterdam seeks to appoint a new assistant professor who is passionate about entrepreneurship and is committed to pursuing research and teaching excellence in this exciting field. We seek a new colleague who is passionate about doing relevant and rigorous research, is committed to publish at the highest level, and is enthusiastic about creating a stimulating learning environment for students in his/her teaching. An interest in the impact of new technological developments (e.g., digitization) or societal developments (e.g., sustainability) on entrepreneurial activity is a plus. The new hire will join the Department of Management and Organization of the VU School of Business and Economics. As such, the position is embedded in a supportive international work environment that is characterized by a strong commitment towards research productivity, teaching innovation and teamwork. Candidates must have a PhD in Business and Management or a related field (completed or with a fixed date for the defense). Prior publication experience in top management or entrepreneurship journals is a strong asset. Starting date is flexible.

The Assistant Professor will contribute to the Department's teaching and research activities and be member of the entrepreneurship group. The research program of this group focuses on core topics in the field of entrepreneurship such as the creation and growth of new firms and industries, the psychological and cognitive underpinnings of entrepreneurship, corporate entrepreneurship and strategic renewal, and the dynamics of regional clusters and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
