    Posted 13 days ago

Your division (ENT) is seeking volunteers for the following roles:

    1. Doctoral Consortium Co-Chair:
This person will serve as co-chair of the 2025 (Copenhagen) consortium and then senior chair for the 2026 Doctoral Consortium. This is traditionally a two-year role, where year one overlaps with the incumbent Chair (as junior co-chair), while year two will be as senior co-chair (with the next newly elected co-chair).
The Co-chairs of the Entrepreneurship (ENT) Division's Doctoral Consortium oversee a series of responsibilities aimed at effectively organizing the consortium. Broadly, the activities include defining important deadlines and program dates, preparing and delivering a report for AOM's Executive Mid-Winter meeting, designing the application call, advertising it through various channels, and selecting/notifying participants. Chairs also select mentors and speakers, prepare materials for the consortium itself and oversee all communication and logistics related to the event.
The 2025 senior co-chair for doctoral consortium is Gabriela Cacciotti

    2. Early Career Consortium Co-Chair:
This person will serve as co-chair of the 2025 (Copenhagen) consortium and then chair for the 2026 Early Career Consortium. This is traditionally a two-year role, where year one overlaps with the incumbent Chair (as junior co-chair), while year two will be as senior co-chair (with the next newly elected co-chair).
The Co-chairs of the Entrepreneurship (ENT) Division's Early Career Development Consortium oversee a series of responsibilities aimed at effectively organizing the consortium.
Prospective co-chairs should be diligent and motivated to provide a first-rate consortium experience.
The 2025 senior co-chair for early career consortium is Marcus Wolfe

    3. Global Scholar Development Committee Chair
The chair will lead the Global Scholar Development Committee, which serves as a catalyst to promote good scholarship globally. It empowers academics worldwide to better understand, navigate, and connect with the academic community of entrepreneurship scholars. The GSDC organizes a workshop at the AoM Conference, and may also use zoom to organize events throughout the year of interest to the global community of entrepreneurship scholars.
The outgoing chair for the GSDC is Sofia Johan.

    4. New Member Development Committee Chair
The Chair will lead the New Member Development Committee, which provides a forum for new members to meet other new members and more experienced scholars. The NMDC organizes a workshop at the AoM Conference for new members, and may also use zoom to set up live, virtual sessions throughout the year to provide new members with the opportunity to get to know the division and interact with other members (junior and senior).
The outgoing chair for the NMDC is Wadid Lamine.

    5. Teaching Committee Chair
The Chair will lead the Teaching Committee, which is tasked with supporting educators and promoting quality entrepreneurship teaching. Regular initiatives include sponsoring PDW sessions on topics that can enable and advance innovative pedagogy in entrepreneurship. The goal of the committee is to provide access to innovative ways to teach entrepreneurship that are useful to our members by recognizing novel ways to approach entrepreneurship education. The committee also selects the winner for the Innovation in Entrepreneurship Pedagogy Award presented at the AOM's annual meeting.
The outgoing chair for the Teaching Committee is Diana Hechavarria.

We are looking for entrepreneurial leaders for these roles, that is, volunteers willing to take initiative and think 'out-of-the-box' (constructively) to provide more value to our existing members and help attract new members to the Division. The role description above is a guide, not a prescription. Good chairs will think and act entrepreneurially, helping bring more positive visibility and energy to the Division.

If interested, please submit your nomination to vkgupta@ua.edu by Oct 4, 2024. Nomination should include cover letter (or email) explaining why you are interested in this role and what new ideas you will bring to this role, plus your latest CV (with 2-3 references included). If you have questions, feel free to ask.
