UCL School of Management – Assistant, Associate or Full Professor in Management (with a focus on Sustainability)

The UCL School of Management is seeking applications for a faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level to cover an area of research in sustainability and related topics, at the intersection of strategy, organization, entrepreneurship, and innovation. UCL has recently launched a Master of Science in Business and Sustainability (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/graduate/taught-degrees/business-and-sustainability-msc), and climate change features among the grand challenges that UCL is tackling through cross-disciplinary units and collaborations (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/climate-change/ucl-climate-hub-community-change). This faculty position is expected to strengthen the commitment of the School of Management to produce novel and impactful knowledge and support the expansion of our educational offer in this area.

The anticipated starting date is 1 September 2023.

University College London (UCL) is one of the world's top universities. At its establishment in 1826, UCL was radical and responsive to the needs of society, and this ethos – that excellence should go hand-in-hand with enriching society – continues today.

UCL's excellence extends across all academic disciplines; from one of Europe's largest and most productive hubs for biomedical science interacting with several leading London hospitals, to world-renowned centres for architecture and fine art. With an annual turnover exceeding £1.5 billion, it is a major research and education hub in London and globally.

UCL's staff and former students have included 34 Nobel prize winners. It is a truly international community: more than one-third of our student body – more than 43,800 strong – come from 190 countries and one-third of staff are from outside the UK. UCL offers postgraduate research opportunities in all of its subjects, and provides more than 200 undergraduate programmes and more than 400 taught postgraduate programmes. Approximately 55% of the student community is engaged in graduate studies, with about 30% of these graduate students pursuing research degrees.

The UCL School of Management is home to UCL's business and management research and education programmes. The School has forged a reputation for world-leading research and teaching in the areas of innovation management, the creation and growth of technology-intensive organisations, business analytics, and entrepreneurship. The REF 2021 results, released on 12 May 2022, show a significant increase in The School of Management's scores, confirming our position as a leading UK institution producing innovative and disruptive research. This year 95% of our research outputs were deemed 'world-leading' and 'internationally excellent'.

The UCL School of Management consists of five research groups: Strategy & Entrepreneurship, Organisations & Innovation, Operations & Technology, Marketing & Analytics, and Finance, Accounting & Economics. The position will be ideally housed within the Strategy & Entrepreneurship group.
